Sarah Seven Interview & Sneak Peek

Saturday was definitely a day of dreams! After seeing the stunning Romona Keveza collection we headed back to the Piers for the International Bridal Markets where I had the chance to wander through suite after suite of beautiful dresses and chat with designers. As I tried not to let my giddiness and excitement seep through, I found myself pleasantly surprised at how down-to-earth and easy it was to talk with the designers. One of my favourite interviews was the adorable Sarah from Sarah Seven.

After introductions and letting Sarah know what raving fans she has in our office (more like absolutely obsessed and over-the-moon fans, but I tried not to let onto that!), my heart did a little dance when I found out she had a new collection for us to see! We began to chat about her dresses and I was also totally surprised to find out how cool, young, and laid-back Sarah was. She’s totally just a girl in love with pretty things, who also happens to have some serious talent and vision for what's missing in a wedding world of ball gowns.

Sarah let me in on how it all began, “I started designing bridal simply because so many people kept asking me for it. It made me realize there was something missing and I could totally do that.” It’s obvious that Sarah’s hit it right on the mark. In less than six years, her vision and talent has led to the opening of two flagship stores in the US, her line carried in over 16 bridal stores, and some major attention from press and wedding blogs.

“My bride is someone who’s totally chill. She’s cool. She knows her style and wants the same thing in her wedding dress.”

As I asked Sarah to tell me about the inspiration behind her new collection she quickly laughed and answered with a single word, “Sparkle!”. The collection is founded upon Sarah’s signature dresses with the addition of plenty of sparkle, twists, lace, and new fabrics to make things fresh and exciting. When I asked about a glittery gold dress in the new collection (shown below!) Sarah laughed, “The fabric is actually called earth worm spider web! I was so excited when I found it.” In signature Sarah Seven style, the dresses continue to have a deep sweetheart neckline and there’s not a ball gown in sight.

Sarah has also collaborated with Jade Rose and created a fabulous new jewellery line full of sparkly goodies and creative pieces for her bride. There’s never a dull moment in the life of Sarah Seven and we're excited to see what the future holds for this talented and laid-back young designer!
