The little kids in the wedding party are the absolute cutest part of the processional. They always provoke the “Awww” moment from the audience, some laughs if they decide to wander away from what was rehearsed, and potentially a few groans if they are the fit-throwing type! But in the end, they are remembered as plain-old cute. One of the best parts of having kids in your wedding party is asking them to be in it and then watching their excitement!
Brittany, one of the wonderful designers here at the magazine, designed these adorable cards for me to use to ask the kids to be apart of Brett and I’s special day. They are pretty-as-can-be...minus our banner boy’s of course! We gave him a boyish card decked with antlers because he has an obsession with bucks (thanks to a buck hunting game he saw on his dad's iPad!).

Yesterday, Brett and I had the fun task of asking these two little munchkins, Riley and Julia, to be our banner girl and banner boy...a.k.a. the cute kids who carry the “here comes the bride” sign. We dropped by for a surprise visit with them, gave them their cards, and then ended up playing Barbies and the “tickle Brett game” for two hours. Could they be any cuter??

We decided to put the flower girls’ cards in the mail because when you’re nine, it’s the coolest thing in the world to get something in the mail that has your name on it instead of your parents’ names.
Since the flower girls are nine and my wedding is a romantic, laid-back, summer wedding, I’ve decided against putting them in the classic white and pouffy dresses. I’m seeing visions of matching summer dresses, halos of flowers placed on top of loose curls, and handmade cones filled with petals. If you have a similar look in mind, check out Gap Kids’ Garden Party collection for your daily dose of cute and some great outfit inspiration.

As for other wedding plans, I’m watching the clock today at work in eager anticipation for 5:00 because this evening Brett and I are designing our wedding bands at Epsilon! Sliding a wedding band onto my finger is really going to make the thought of becoming Brett's wife in 121 days feel as real as the wedding budget that I’ve been obsessing over.
I hope your wedding plans are coming along! A lot of people have been writing in and asking for help with the wedding day itinerary so I’ll be covering that next Wednesday! I am recruiting the expert advice of a few wedding planners because the itinerary stresses me out as much as it stresses you!
Anyway, scroll through and enjoy some inspiration for the kid in your wedding party. Happy pinning (if you don’t know what that means, click the link, and thank me later for introducing you to the world of Pinterest!), happy dreaming, and happy planning!
